The Following is information concerning how US Citizens have requested the US Government dominate them, and several factors involved in the psychology of people as a society in general.

The American people have requested of the United States Government that the Government dominate and control it's people.
There was a time in this Country when everything made sense. In that time, when there was a pot hole in the road, American Citizens would get together, and fix that pothole... They would not complain that the Government was not fixing the pothole. And taxes were lower.
However...
When those people got together, they were a community. That community knew all their neighbors... They knew each other, and they got in each other's buisness. If someone was saying funny things to a father's kid, they would get together with their nighbors, and confront the man.
And if the man had bad intentions, it would be taken care of. There was no rampant crime... Kids respected their parents, and parents spent time with their kids. A villiage would in fact raise a child, and people would not say "Don't tell me how to raise MY kid" as if children were their personal property, not their repsonsibility.
But things always change...
People decided they did not want to be repsonisble for all these things. See, there was World War 2, and lots of new things happened, and the Government started to take care of certain things...
And it worked really great, and people wanted the Government to take care of more and more things. And people wanted the Government to be responsible, and they became lazy, and lost their sense of independence combined with community. They felt they were only responsible for themselves, and everything else was the job of the Government.
And people became frustrated with the Government and stopped voting.
And the people who did vote no longer voted for people. They voted for ideas. Because nobody knew who their neighbors were... It was a new generation, and the new generation believed that ideas were important, not people.
So everyone voted on ideas, and they forgot an old teaching.
You can have the most perfect system in the world, but when corrupt people run it, that system does not work. And eventually, it doesn't even matter what they system says, what the Constitution says, because people do not care, they have given up.
See, when you vote for people who want to run your life... When you vote for people who want to control your life, they also want to control you. Their views are important, and yours do not matter.
For example, at first, everyone was against gay marriage, so they voted for people who represented ideas, and those people were against gay marriage, because they only cared about ideas.
And eventually, the majority thought gay marriage was okay. But the American people had voted on ideas, not people, and the people that represented ideas whated to control everything, and did not care what America wanted, they cared what they wanted.
But gay marriage is not even the point here.
Abraham Lincoln was a racist who approved os slavery. He had a black woman he had an affair with, and shut himself in the White House for months at a time when his mental illness effected him.
People voted for Lincoln because he was a person. And Lincoln never stopped being a person, no matter what his ideas and weaknesses were. Lincol was a person who believed that what the people wanted was mroe important than his personal beliefs.
And because the people wanted slavery to end, Lincoln made damn sure the people got what they wanted.
There was a time in this Country that the people wanted the Government to control them. But this means that people who represent that idea, who now dominate politics are power hungry. When you seek a leader who wants to control you, he cares about his will and desires, not yours.
And that is the secret.
A community knows each other. A community cares. A community stops crime, and works WITH the Government, NOT against it.
A Government represents it's COUNTRY, IF that government is a Democracy. The Government does NOT represent itself.
When your own Government consists of people who force Christain Terrorists, at gun point to murder American Citizens by flying airplanes into buildings, the Government realizes it has problems, and that problem is the responsiblity of the Government, not the people.
The responsiblity of people is to decide WHO enters Politics, not to decide WHAT IDEAS that person cares about. Because ideas are just ideas. Ideas change as society changes. People do not change who they truly are. As their ideas change they explore new forms and expressions of themself.
